Although I have lived most of my life in Africa, I have spent the last 10 years on other continents: Asia, Europe and North America. At the end of 2008 I came back to South Africa for an extended stay. This blog is about my experience in getting back to grips with a complicated country that I still call home.

Dawn in the Karoo


I'm on my way to the north-western extreme of South Africa (to the border with Botswana) to visit the Kgalagadi National Park ... this was dawn just north of the town of Uppington, about three hours ago.
