Although I have lived most of my life in Africa, I have spent the last 10 years on other continents: Asia, Europe and North America. At the end of 2008 I came back to South Africa for an extended stay. This blog is about my experience in getting back to grips with a complicated country that I still call home.

Kokerboom

This is a kokerboom, or a quiver tree - they grow in the Northern Cape, where they're something of an emblem. I came across some at sunset as I was barreling up towards Keimoes on the Orange River.
